Every Step I’ve Taken

I have taken many, many baby steps during these past four years.

I’ve described those steps as picking up these heart-shaped flowers.

I’ve sneaked them in, past my ego’s sharp eyes.

I’ve kept them in a vase
Right in front of his eyes.

But he didn’t notice this gradual change.

With every flower sneaked in,
With every step taken..

I have built up my courage.

And when I lift my eyes up from the ground where they are continously looking for the next step and the next flower,
I can see that I’ve walked a long way.

And where I needed more courage back then,
is now my new normal.

How awesome is that!?
