Celebrating Ten Years of elinap – Part X

by

I started blogging and had my first website created ten years ago!
This series is a sneak peek back into those days (and illustrations).

I had my first Mira(cle)Doodles book bubbling inside me after doodling Mira daily for a year in 2015. Then I ran into this new platform called Patreon and thought I’d give it a try.

I ended up loving it!

I built myself a nice and cozy nook for sewing my doodles together as stories and started posting my progress with the book there also.

I’ve always found it hard to be visible, so the people I spent those first months in Patreon with filled me with gratitude. It was a lot of fun to be visible and create content. Mira has made it easier, she so effortlessly just shows up for anything I ask her to.

I worked with a coach to find out a strategy that would work for me for creating books, and here’s what we came up with. Harnessing my creativity to do good, asking her to not draw on the clouds but something firmer (like paper), sharing what I do and showing up consistently should do it.

And this works, although it’s slow, when I need to also work on other projects to get the funding. But I’ve got time, that’s all we have anyway.

Those first months of being active in Patreon taught me how much to deliver. I didn’t have time for much else than my book and my Patreon posts.
I posted a weekly doodle AND a weekly doodle story
(Here’s a downloadable sneak peek of one of the above – On how A Course in Miracles views time).

When I launched my book I decided to pause my Patreon account and I knew it was just a pause, because I had truly loved the platform. So I kissed it goodbye for a while!

In early 2019, again after doodling Mira daily for a year (in 2018) I decided to return. Now with a more sustainable plan that I can go on and on and on with for years even if my thing didn’t attract many patrons.

I planned on sending out a monthly uplifting doodle, a monthly doodle story PDF
(Here’s a downloadable sneak peek on one of the stories I posted in 2020 that tells a story on balancing between light & dark – See how the stories have evolved!!)

I’ve been also experimenting with leading a group. This year the group has been all about creating a second edition of the book I published in 2016. The book illustrates a ten step process with coloring pictures, so I posted one step and a bonus step once a month. This time the book has more words on it too.

Should you decide to become my patron you’ll immediately unlock 238 exclusive posts dating back to 2016.

In 2021 my offerings stay almost the same…

Only they will be even more streamlined and thought through – You’ll love it!

I’m about to reveal my plans in a couple of weeks so stay tuned!
