Mira(cle)Doodles by elinap

Meet Sandy

Sandy is Mira’s little blue-eyed friend. In Mira(cle)Doodles she helps with symbolizing our interactions with others. She is Mira’s beloved friend and supporter, always reflecting love and loyalty back to her.

With Sandy, Mira has a chance to practice being loving and kind. And the effects are worth to see!

Let’s hear what she wants to share with us now.

Hi Sandy! So nice to have you here. Can you tell us something about yourself?

Hi! Thanks for having me here. Yes.. Well, what should I say.. I really like being part of Mira’s story. I love to support her and be there for her. She’s so immersed in her own healing journey that I admire her a lot for that and want to follow her lead. I am a nurturer by nature and easily get lost in helping others, but with Mira’s help I’ve been able to cast my eyes on where I am and what I need for myself. I think I’ve started to love myself more with her help. She’s awesome!

What do you love the most about yourself?

Oh, good question.. I guess I started to talk about Mira more than myself again.. Good catch. It’s so easy to really not say a thing about me when there’s such an interesting person nearby.

Umm.. I love it how great I am with other children. I can easily find the one who feels lost and needs a shoulder to cry on. I love how good I am at cooking desserts that I can share with my friends. But really this is hard… I don’t really know.. What do I love about me you said? Hmmm… Maybe this means that I’ve started to love my creativity and how I interact with others. I have started to thank myself whenever I notice I’ve been needing someone else to thank me for what I did. That makes a huge difference!

Would you like to tell us a story of how you met Mira?

Thank you, this is so much easier to answer to.. All this attention is a bit too much.. We met years and years ago. I have always known her. Our first appearance together in a published doodle series was in December 2014. Maybe you can include them in so everyone can see where our journey started?

Yes we’ll do that – Thank you!

But there’s more to it.. When Mira started to show us about our ego’s powers and asked me to play with her to show how hard it can be to see behind our perception we first built these cardboard versions of ourselves. I was a bit perplexed that she thought I was that judgmental… Showing her my tongue, I’d never ever do that! But when she told me what this really was about I understood. Sometimes people assume things even if I would never mean it that way. It’s quite beautiful to be able to show in just a few doodles how all the drama in the world is about not seeing the truth about us. We all are unique embodiments of love, living our own kind of life.

The next doodle explaining something about the ancient Hawaiian tradition called ho’oponopono was already more positive and all about the path to forgiveness. I loved to jump rope with Mira there.

We’ll include that doodle in too! But how does it feel like to be Mira’s sidekick?

Haha, I’d never put it that way! I love Mira and appearing with her time to time, but I have no interest in being in the spotlight myself. Everyone needs a supportive best friend to shine brighter.

What’s your story?

I’m a helper and a giver and lately I’ve been inspired to walk the path to self-love and knowing myself following Mira’s example. It has made a huge difference on how my life is turning out. When before I just tried to stay positive and pushed my feelings aside, now I’ve been blossoming with creativity and self-expression. I have been taking photos, it’s a bit like art therapy for me. I take photos of nature and love to take close ups of beautiful flowers and details. Mira has encouraged me to post my photos in Facebook, but truth be told, I’m a bit old-fashioned and not into all that tech stuff and algorithms so I haven’t been very consistent with it. I rather take photos for just me and enjoy nature and the beauty of small details. I do love to print out the best ones for my family and friends. They are wonderful decorations too! Whenever I look at a picture of forests I feel more peaceful and calm.

What are your plans for the future?

Ooh.. I like to take one day at a time. This summer I plan on going for nature walks every day and maybe I will go camping with my friends too. Sweet and simple!

One more questions – What is your motto?

Here I’ll quote Dalai Lama “Be kind whenever possible. It’s always possible.”
